Danger of the Night
by Crystalyna

The sun goes down and batwings fly,
Darkness will soon be coming nigh.
No light out but the twinkling of stars,
Or beaming headlights from distant cars.

Within his coffin, his eyes open wide,
The hunger cresting, like the tide.
Waiting till there is no more light,
The vampire will surely feast tonight.

You will never hear him coming near,
Till it's too late and then you will fear.
He'll bite your throat and drink your blood,
Gushing redness in a flood.

He'll drain you dry and leave you dead;
An empty husk just like you've read.
Or if he wishes it to be,
He'll make you weak, till you can't flee.

He'll cut his throat and make you drink,
Until the point where you can't think.
He'll make of you a child of the night,
He'll make it so you'll never again see the light.

So unless you wish this for your fate,
Lock your doors and don't stay out late.
For he's begun his search tonight,
For a child of the light.

Then he'll have his nightly feast,
A lot of blood, to say the least.
So unless you wish to become like him,
Stay inside when the light goes dim.
